I create and hold a distraction-free and supportive writing space.
You push your writing project ahead.
Writers of all stripes are welcome! Whether you're an academic or researcher, an editor or translator, a fiction or non-fiction writer, or a multi-language author writing in whatever language, the need for focus, structure, healthy writing practice and supportive community is the same.
Time and space to set, and work intentionally and purposefully toward, realistic goals
Ample protected writing time interspersed with wellness breaks so you remain energized
Space shared with engaged writers, keeping you motivated and on task
Room to discuss writing challenges, assess outcomes and celebrate achievements
Opportunity to learn about yourself as a writer and test new writing process strategies
Opportunity for incidental learning and to draw on the collective wisdom of the community
If you'd like to read about retreat experiences from my perspective of writer–facilitator and retreat-repeater, see this collection of Snapshots.

My retreats are based on the structured writing retreat model developed by Rowena Murray, adapted to the online context. Ample, focused writing time is supported by movement and meal breaks and opportunities to discuss your writing practice and progress with the community of writers. My job as facilitator is to create and hold this safe and supportive environment so you can make measurable, satisfactory progress on your writing project.
Research shows that structured writing sessions
provide dedicated time and space for writing by encouraging participants to intentionally and purposefully disengaging from other tasks
create accountability by asking writers to share and assess their goals
create a sense of connectedness among writers, making them a safe space to discuss writing challenges
promote writer wellbeing by alleviating feelings of isolation
€66 (includes all applicable taxes)
WHAT IF I CAN'T STAY THE WHOLE TIME?
Retreating from home or the office comes with certain challenges. If you need to miss a session or duck out early, that's perfectly okay.
WHAT IF THERE ARE NO SPACES LEFT?
I can put you on the waiting list.
You can cancel your booking and receive a full refund (minus a processing fee of €10) up to midnight the day before the retreat starts.
If you'd like to transfer your booking to another person, you may do so up to 24 hours prior to start. Send me an email and we'll sort out the details.
HOW DO I PREPARE?
Once you've booked your spot, you'll receive some guidance on preparing your writing project, your physical retreat space and tips for getting the most out of your investment in your writing.
